Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Abdominoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and may include tightening of the abdominal-wall muscles. It is performed under general anaesthesia and usually requires a hospital stay of 1–2 days. The scar is positioned low on the abdomen and may be covered by underwear. Swelling gradually subsides, and strenuous exercise should be avoided for 2–3 weeks. A compression garment is worn during this period. Abdominoplasty may also be combined with liposuction.
Mini Abdominoplasty
A mini abdominoplasty may be considered when a smaller amount of laxity is mainly located below the navel. The procedure may be performed with local tumescent anaesthesia, according to the individual surgical assessment.
