Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Chin Surgery (Genioplasty)
Chin surgery, or genioplasty, reshapes the chin by increasing, reducing or repositioning it, with the aim of balancing it with the other facial features.
Indications
The chin and nose contribute to the facial profile. Assessment considers whether the chin is prominent, retrusive or asymmetric in relation to the forehead, lips and other facial features. In selected cases, genioplasty may be combined with rhinoplasty to improve profile balance.
Anaesthesia, Photographs and Consent
Surgery is usually performed with local anaesthesia and sedation or with general anaesthesia. Photographs support planning and follow-up, while informed consent covers the procedure and potential complications.
The Operation
Chin implant
An implant is placed through an incision inside the mouth or beneath the chin.
Sliding genioplasty
A segment of the patient’s jaw bone is divided, moved forward or backward as planned and fixed in its new position with titanium fixation. This uses the patient’s own bone; technique selection considers the benefits and possible complications of each option.

Postoperative Course
Rest is recommended for several days. A support garment is used, sutures are removed after 6–7 days, makeup may be used after the first week and returning to work may be possible after 7–10 days. Head elevation and cold compresses are useful during the first 2–3 days. Follow-up is required.

I visited Dr. Moutsoudis’s clinic. He is an excellent doctor who explains everything about each procedure. I personally had injectable treatments on my face and was completely satisfied 🙏. I also had Dermapen with the girls, with a perfect result. Wonderful atmosphere and clinic!! Thank you!! 🙂

For me, Dr. Moutsoudis is the best plastic surgeon. We went through a procedure together, and from the beginning he told me that recovery would be difficult, while other doctors do not say these things. He was completely honest and informative from the first appointment to the last. Even after the procedure, he came to see me three times at the clinic within 12 hours, and to this day, 18 days after the procedure, he shows concern almost daily about the healing process. His phone is always on, and he answers any question I have immediately, even at weekends. He has been by my side from the first moment to the last. Above all, the doctor is a very good person and an excellent doctor!! His results speak for themselves! Of course, I could not fail to mention his impeccably trained team: all excellent professionals, very caring, knowledgeable, kind and principled! My experience at Dr. Moutsoudis’s clinic will remain unforgettable! I am grateful and recommend him without reservation!
