Forehead and Brow Lift

Ageing may lower the forehead and brows, deepen horizontal lines and create a tired or stern appearance. A forehead or brow lift repositions the tissues according to the degree of laxity and facial anatomy.

Forehead and Brow Lift

Indications for Surgery

A forehead lift may improve brow position, lateral skin excess and horizontal forehead lines, although it does not remove every line. Excess tissue above the brows is not necessarily corrected with blepharoplasty. Suitability considers skin laxity and elasticity, stable weight, medical history and realistic expectations.
Indications for Surgery

Combined Procedures

Forehead lift and blepharoplasty may be combined when indicated by the surgical plan. Depending on individual needs, laser, peeling, autologous fat or other selected applications may also be considered. Periodic botulinum toxin treatment may form part of maintenance planning.

Anaesthesia, Photographs and Consent

Surgery is usually performed with local anaesthesia and sedation or with general anaesthesia. Preoperative photographs support planning and postoperative follow-up. Informed consent covers the procedure, indications, contraindications and potential complications.

The Operation

Endoscopic surgery uses 3–5 small incisions within the hair. Forehead tissues are released and repositioned, and the glabellar muscles may be weakened in a controlled manner while aiming to preserve forehead and brow movement.

An endoscopic lift takes about one hour, is usually day surgery and may allow a return to work in 3–5 days; full activity generally resumes after two weeks. Results may last 10–12 years. Endoscopic, limited-incision and coronal techniques are selected according to age, anatomy and the degree of descent.

Postoperative Course

A drain, when used, is generally removed after 24–48 hours. Rest, head elevation and cold compresses are recommended during the first 2–3 days. Sutures are removed after 14 days, and aspirin, smoking and strenuous exercise should be avoided according to medical instructions. Follow-up is required.

For me, Dr. Moutsoudis is the best plastic surgeon. We went through a procedure together, and from the beginning he told me that recovery would be difficult, while other doctors do not say these things. He was completely honest and informative from the first appointment to the last. Even after the procedure, he came to see me three times at the clinic within 12 hours, and to this day, 18 days after the procedure, he shows concern almost daily about the healing process. His phone is always on, and he answers any question I have immediately, even at weekends. He has been by my side from the first moment to the last. Above all, the doctor is a very good person and an excellent doctor!! His results speak for themselves! Of course, I could not fail to mention his impeccably trained team: all excellent professionals, very caring, knowledgeable, kind and principled! My experience at Dr. Moutsoudis’s clinic will remain unforgettable! I am grateful and recommend him without reservation!
