What Are Skin Boosters?

Skin boosters are injectable treatments containing stabilised hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring component of the skin that binds water. Suitability, the areas treated and the treatment schedule are assessed individually. More information is available on the Skin Boosters page.

How Are They Applied?

Using a fine needle, the material is injected at multiple points within the skin. It may contain lidocaine. Sensation varies from person to person, and the doctor selects the technique and treatment plan according to the area and skin characteristics.

Skin Booster Applications

  • Hydration: used with the aim of supporting skin moisture.
  • Texture: treatment may focus on fine lines and surface texture.
  • Elasticity: the plan may aim to support overall skin quality.
  • Radiance: treatment may be used to improve overall appearance.
  • Duration: response and duration vary, and maintenance is assessed individually.

Treatment Areas

Skin boosters may be considered for areas with thin skin or signs of dehydration and ageing, including:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Hands

Treatment Procedure

The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes. Temporary redness or swelling may occur after treatment. Their intensity and duration, as well as the time needed to return to everyday activities, vary from person to person.

Combination with Other Treatments

Skin boosters may be combined with other aesthetic applications, including diamond microdermabrasion, fillers, laser applications and PRP mesotherapy, when included in an individual treatment plan.

The combination, sequence and timing of applications are determined according to skin condition and each person’s needs.

Who May Be Suitable for Skin Boosters?

Suitability is assessed according to skin type, age, area, medical history and treatment goals. Skin boosters may be considered for dehydration, rough texture or signs of ageing when this is appropriate within an individual treatment plan.
