How Is the Procedure Performed?
The procedure may be performed with local anaesthesia and sedation. Sensation and recovery vary by person. Technologies such as power-assisted liposuction (PAL) and ultrasound-assisted liposuction (VASER) may be used to support the surgical plan.
How Is Fat Used in Plastic Surgery?
Autologous fat may be processed and transferred in aesthetic or reconstructive surgery. Applications include selected areas of the face and body and breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Method and outcome are assessed individually.
Combination with Other Treatments
Fat transfer may be considered alongside other surgical or non-surgical applications, including fractional CO₂ laser, microneedling, facial mesotherapy and body mesotherapy. It may also form part of a surgical plan involving liposuction, facelift or blepharoplasty. Individual assessment is essential before any procedure.
